Anna Science Centre is a planetarium located on the National Highway 210 between Tirchy and Pudukottai adjacent to the Tiruchirapalli Airport. The Anna Science Centre, Tiruchirappalli was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu and was inaugurated on 10 June 1999. School and college-going students from neighbouring districts such as Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Perambalur, Dindigul, Karur and Madurai visit the planetarium. Science lovers feed your passion by visiting the Anna science centre. The planetarium is located near the Airport. It has around 11 galleries and each of it displays the characteristics of different aura of nature, earth, science and technology. The environmental gallery exhibits the flora of the ecosystem and its bio diversity. Apart from the museum and gallery there is Shark Island where 3D technology has been installed to give real pictures and clips. To nurture the creativity and imagination of children, there is a separate block where they would be given a delightful visual about basic astronomy, space missions, deep seas, science movies and wild jungles. In the amphitheater of planetarium one would have an occasion to witness vivid science shows and it is displayed in both English and Tamil language.
